On May 8, 1945, the Allies in World War II accepted the formal surrender of the German Reich, marking the official end of hostilities in Europe. Now, 63 years on, there is almost no mention of this anniversary.
For the lives lost, dreams interrupted, and sacrifices made, I want to say thank you to the Greatest Generation....those who endured through this conflict. Without you, our lives would never have come to pass, and our standard of living would certainly not approach that which we enjoy.
You have my gratitude and my prayers, and you can rest in the knowledge that your efforts have not been in vain, nor have they been forgotten.
God bless....

p.s.- Photo is actually from VJ Day, but it's such a great picture I couldn't resist.
